The market demand for EFB bricks in Malaysia is rising, both locally and internationally in the beginning of year 2023

The reasons may be:

FFB production drops in the first quarter of year 2023, this caused the shortage of PKS in the market, and EFB bricks can be a viable solution to bridge the gap and provide a reliable and sustainable alternative.

The global biomass fuel market is experiencing steady growth, driven by the increasing demand for renewable energy sources and the focus on reducing carbon emissions.

Biomass fuels like EFB bricks have a lower carbon footprint compared to fossil fuels, as they are derived from renewable sources. This contributes to mitigating greenhouse gas emissions and promoting sustainable energy practices for power plants, industries, and biomass energy consumers.

In Malaysia, the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) provides feed-in tariffs and other financial incentives for biomass energy projects, creating a favorable investment environment for biomass fuel producers such as EFB brick producers.

Japan has a significant demand for biomass fuels due to its renewable energy targets and the closure of nuclear power plants after the Kagoshima disaster. This creates a potential export market for EFB bricks.

European countries, such as Germany and Sweden, have been actively utilizing biomass fuels for energy production, including pellets, briquettes and bricks. This highlights the market potential and the successful integration of biomass fuels in the energy mix.

EFB bricks are typically produced through a process that involves drying, pulverizing, and compressing the EFB fibers. The EFB BRICKS have high energy density, low moisture content, and consistent quality. They can be used as a renewable energy source in power plants or as a feed-stock for other industrial applications.

The production of EFB bricks requires the size and moisture content of EFB raw materials to be within 50mm in length and about 20% moisture content, so the cost of producing one ton of EFB bricks is lower than that of EFB granules.

Palm EFB bricks have a calorific value ranging from approximately 3,500 to 4,500  (kcal/kg). However, it's important to note that specific calorific values may vary based on the production process and the specific characteristics of the EFB bricks and the EFB brick machine.
